Our Fall Gathering took place at the Minden Whitewater Preserve https://wildernesscanoe.ca/content/fall-gathering About 35 people attended. Friday night temperatures dropped to 1C. Burrrr!. We could see the trees were starting to change into the fall colours. On Saturday the temperatures rose to the high teens with clear blue skies sunshine and most of the group canoed the Burnt River, while others played on the Gull. Saturday evening BBQ dinner was well attended followed up with presentations on the Hart River and the Broken Skull/South Nahanni Rivers. We woke up Sunday to a very light rain and great homemade breakfast of eggs and bacon and Tim’s coffee. After breakfast, most decided to head home with the threatening rain clouds, but a few of us headed out and hiked to an old log chute on Big Hawk Lake with only an occasional sprinkle.
